What does one must do to get the proper shut-up of a wild flower? Set up a tripod, clip on digital camera, then snap, snap it’s in the bag, digicam, chip.. no matter? Maybe… but contemplate just a few unexpected impediments first. Finding the proper clump of topics (principally the straightforward half), stopping(screeching to a halt) suddenly (typically attention-grabbing along a busy freeway)…parking and gathering up the required gear (simple) – then my least favourite half, lugging all the pieces over hill and dale. Tripod, digicam bag with several lenses which by no means seem to get any lighter after which fun, fun, fun…It seems, seemed a brief distance across three fences to where the wild, gorgeous yellow number (nothing unique – an easy daisy but a beauty!), nods within the gentle breeze..but…

Have you ever tried to climb over a fence with tripod in hand and weighty digital camera bag over shoulder? “Just pass them by the fence and observe”, you say! In idea perfect however as is commonly the case when I’m out ready to shoot I’ve tripod prepared, camera clipped in, slung over proper shoulder legs prolonged, unfold ready to go (the truth that I seem like a giraffe with ungainly neck protrusions goes unnoticed) and my digital camera bag is old, barely smelly and large!. So, how do I climb through the primary fence, let alone the second or third in pursuit of the right daisy without a lot of folding of legs pushing and shoving, and unclipping of my treasured digital genius first? Easy answer – I don’t, I attempt to get via regardless. Outcome? The air rapidly turns blue round my head and expletives neither original nor inventive start erupting unbidden from my person. After which the ultimate indignity as a minimum of one part of my favorite jumper gets snagged by an ever vigilant barb! My various options: throw the gear over and hope for the most effective, discover a gate (how many miles to the nearest?), or just depart all of it in the SUV…barring the digital genius and one’s favorite 1:1 lens in fact!

My remaining choice? Depart tripod and bag within the SUV, take the mandatory, and hope that the ravages of the earlier night time haven’t wrought havoc with traditionally rock steady hands. So then leaping like a gazelle over fences one, and three, I stride toward the proper clump of yellow. It’s late within the season, so all the white daisies are just about carried out – rich, golden yellow it is.

Selecting the perfect specimen is next. I must decide what I am making an attempt to say in the pic. Perfection with clarity – nature’s type, chic in its attention to detail or natural delicate colour merging into more color with shadowy bits – a bit of each perhaps. The magic of digital, the freedom of digital – the ability to strive every thing as a result of one can! I love it. It is a revelation, a deepening of the artistic urge to explore new realms without cost… or finish sometimes.

Positive, one can at all times argue that it leads to lack of route, lack of planning however one may argue in return that it extends one’s vision, increases one’s output and skill to see the world from completely different perspectives. I relish the problem!

Back to the world of yellow! Perfection… mmmm. Unable to settle on which of the perfect selections is THE excellent selection I resolve to shoot anyway, putting pen to paper or rather index finger to shutter button as a way to get the artistic juices flowing. As all the time appears to occur, I loosen up into it and my mind opens up to the chances: depth of discipline, front edge of a petal in focus again edge out and vice versa however principally my mind is consumed by heat yellow. Kneeling on the ground head down intensely focused – the butt within the air angle would not be a lovely sight for any passing observer however I need not fear about such concerns as this gentle obsession most often results in splendid isolation.
